In addition to placing orders directly, customers can also check prices and availability around the clock. Any business owner with a German VAT ID number can become a customer of the online store.
Convenient Search Functions
After logging in as usual, users have access to three convenient search functions to find the right products quickly and easily. In addition to a sitemap and searching by item number, users can also get quick results by using keywords such as “silicone” or “windows.” Detailed information is available in tabular form for almost all products found, including additional drawings, technical data, and in-depth details.
Real-Time Availability Check, Binding Price Quotes, and “Quick Pick”
When selecting items, users are immediately notified whether the goods are available in the desired quantity at the central warehouse in Osnabrück. Each customer account is individually configured so that, in addition to the agreed-upon shipping methods, binding price information is provided right away. This allows the online store to be used as an extended service for calculating your own quotes without having to place an order immediately. Thanks to “Quick Pick,” the shopping cart can be filled with multiple products at once by entering the quantity and item number.

cytrus GmbH is responsible for the technical implementation of the online store. This project presented a complex challenge, as the commerce extension used had to communicate seamlessly with Titgemeyer’s in-house SAP infrastructure in many areas. To this end, the web server was first equipped with the “SAP-RFC” PHP module to enable the necessary SAP BAPIs to be called. The essential link and core component of the online store is an extension for TYPO3 developed by cytrus GmbH.
