Myanmar is a country with a very young population. About 20 of Myanmar’s 54 million inhabitants are under the age of 20. Many of these children and young people live in poverty. Inadequate schooling and poor health care deprive them of the opportunity to lead self-determined lives. The Myanmar Children’s Aid Foundation is therefore committed to selected projects that provide educational and vocational training for young people in need. About the Myanmar Children's Aid Foundation
The Myanmar Children’s Aid Foundation is the successor organization to the Myanmar Children’s Aid Association, which was founded in 2000 by Klaus Schröder (Frankfurt am Main) and operated until 2017. To ensure the long-term sustainability of the projects in Myanmar, Klaus Schröder established the Myanmar Children’s Aid Foundation in September 2016 in collaboration with the children’s aid organization ChildFund. His tremendous dedication to children in Myanmar was recognized with the award of the Federal Cross of Merit.
The Myanmar-Kinderhilfe Foundation provides assistance regardless of ethnic origin, religious affiliation, or gender. A particular focus is placed on supporting girls.
